Job Description: On behalf of our client, a regional hospital in Burnie, we are seeking a dedicated Transplant Coordinator to manage their organ donation program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the organ donation process
  • Educate healthcare professionals and the public about organ donation
  • Provide support to donor families throughout the donation process
  • Liaise with transplant centers and organ procurement organizations
  • Maintain accurate records and databases of donation activities
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with intensive care units to identify potential donors
  • Assist in the development of organ donation policies and procedures
  • Participate in on-call rotation for organ donation cases

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
  • Postgraduate qualifications in critical care or transplantation preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience in critical care or transplant-related field
  • Strong knowledge of organ donation and transplantation processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in high-stress situations
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities
