Job Description: On behalf of our client, Gove District Hospital in Nhulunbuy, we are seeking a compassionate Palliative Care Physician to provide end-of-life care services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses
  • Manage complex symptoms and pain in palliative patients
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, social workers, and psychologists
  • Provide support and counseling to patients and their families
  • Participate in community outreach programs for palliative care awareness
  • Contribute to the development of palliative care policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular home visits and telehealth consultations for remote patients
  • Engage in culturally appropriate care for Indigenous patients

Qualifications:

  • FAChPM qualification or equivalent
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Palliative Medicine
  • Strong clinical skills in symptom management and end-of-life care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in remote or Indigenous healthcare settings preferred
  • Commitment to culturally sensitive healthcare delivery
