Job Description: On behalf of our client, a leading hospital in Townsville, we are seeking a highly skilled Neurosurgeon to join their expanding neurosciences department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of neurosurgical procedures, including cranial and spinal surgeries
  • Diagnose and treat disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients
  • Collaborate with neurologists, neuroradiologists, and other specialists
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and tumor boards
  • Contribute to research and clinical trials in neurosurgery
  • Mentor junior surgeons and medical students
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergency neurosurgical cases

Qualifications:

  • FRACS in Neurosurgery or equivalent
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Minimum 7 years post-fellowship experience in Neurosurgery
  • Fellowship training in complex spine surgery desirable
  • Excellent surgical skills and clinical judgment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
