Job Description: On behalf of our client, a major regional hospital in Ballarat, we are seeking a dedicated Infectious Disease Specialist to join their multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and manage complex infectious diseases
  • Provide consultative services for inpatients and outpatients
  • Develop and implement infection control protocols
  • Collaborate with microbiologists and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in antimicrobial stewardship programs
  • Contribute to research and clinical trials in infectious diseases
  • Educate medical staff and the community on infection prevention
  • Assist in managing outbreaks and emerging infectious threats
  • Participate in on-call roster for infectious disease emergencies

Qualifications:

  • FRACP in Infectious Diseases or equivalent
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Minimum 5 years post-fellowship experience in Infectious Diseases
  • Strong knowledge of tropical and rural infectious diseases
  • Experience in HIV medicine and travel medicine preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
